We have served as advocates for people living with disabilities in Central Florida since March, 2011.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Our founder Sean van Gerena and our board of directors have served the Central Florida community since March of 2011. \u00a0We started with Kilts for a Kause \u00a0(Fun social 5k and 10k races. \u00a0We then started providing programs in conjunction with the University of Central Florida. \u00a0This ultimately turned into the creation of Lie Down Or Stand Up, Inc. \u00a0We have been a registered 501c3 since 2014.<\/div>\n

During this time we have served on committees, addressed challenges with elected offices and partnered with community leaders.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
We advocate for rights of individuals living with disabilities. \u00a0We advocate not for ADA compliance, but accessibility and mindfulness.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Our founder Sean van Gerena serves on the Brain and Spinal Cord Injury Program Advisory Council.<\/div>\n
\u00a0<\/b><\/span><\/div>\n
Many of our programs are designed to also serve as an opportunity to be an advocate. \u00a0We enjoy having events in public places to help identify accessibility, be visible and remove prejudice.<\/div>\n
